I'm very pleased to announce that I subbed Comet 3 to my publisher just a couple of weeks ago, and despite not expecting to hear about this until at least January they've said a resounding yes. I'm contracted to do the usual polish and set to house-style etc., but they've not picked out any story changes. There are a couple of small points I've decided to change but, hey, that's what edits are for. The planned date is roughly scheduled for April 2008. I um... won't tell you more 'just' yet, or the title, which will either make you laugh or groan, but it's with a great deal of pleasure and a touch of sadness that I'll be finishing the trilogy. There may be a spin-off or two, but I'm undecided about that as yet.
Speaking of which, I've reached the 25,000 word mark in my f/f (which, if it sees completion is set in the Swithin universe). Despite that being a very decent length considering the time I've spent working on it, I feel as though I've had several teeth pulled with this one even though some thing's driving me to finish it. I guess I don't like failure and I don't like being told I can't do something. Lol. I have no idea right now if this will become a novel or remain novella length but I'm sticking to the adage that the story will be as long as it takes to tell it. I don't want to cheat readers but neither do I want to drag it out for the sake of verbiage. I'll keep you posted as they say, but right now I want to skip off happily knowing that Comet 3 has a home... and I can't wait to see the cover they come up with!
